Laser Diffraction Sensor (LDS)

WB-LDS

Nuevo

For very fine wire diameter measurement.

Main advantages

On machines:

  • wire vibration measurement independents

In laboratory:

  • low measurement uncertainty in % of the diameter
  • very high measurement stability and accuracy in time

Long lifetime, entirely static, no moving parts.

Metrological characteristics mentioned for each individual measures. No averaging.

The original LDS instruments have been designed in 1987 to meet a specific demand for in line measurement of fine wire diameters (steel cord). Since, they have been widely used in the wire industry on production lines but also in laboratories for fine and ultra fine wires and dies measurements.

The LDS, its new version, benefits of the very latest technologies but also of the CERSA’s experience in wire industries. More options and accessories have been added to simplify specific applications. That results of the continuous support and cooperation of our customers. The LDS are today one of our key products, used world wide.

Measurement ranges

LDS0200: Ø 5 to 200 µm (0.2 to 7.8 mils) 1 or 2 axes

LDS0800: Ø 18 to 800 µm (0.7 to 31.5 mils) 1 or 2 axes
LDS02000: Ø 50 to 2000 µm (1.8 to 78.7 mils) 1 or 2 axes

Metrology

Frequency: 50Hz (Standard version) or 800Hz (1 axis) and 400 Hz (2 axis) for the H versions.
Repeatability: ±0.02 % of the diameter in laboratory, ±0.03% in production.

Limitations:
LDS0200: ±0,01 µm (±0.0004 mils)
LDS0800: ±0,03 µm (±0.001 mils)
LDS02000: ±0,10 µm (±0.004 mils)

General functions
